Avaya filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time in May 2023. While the business emerged from that process, the instability accelerated decisions that many UK contact centres had been postponing. End-of-support for key Avaya on-premise products, including Avaya Aura and certain Call Centre Elite configurations, means no more security patches, no vendor-backed fixes, and no compliance-grade support SLAs.

First, AWS partner capacity for Amazon Connect implementations is finite. Experienced practitioners who can deliver production systems in regulated environments are already booked into 2026.
Second, Avaya extended support contracts, where available, carry significant premium pricing. Organisations paying for extended support are funding a delay, not buying time productively.
Third, the longer a contact centre runs on unsupported infrastructure, the larger the compliance risk register entry becomes, and the more likely that a security incident or audit finding forces an emergency migration rather than a planned one. Emergency migrations cost more, take longer, and carry higher operational risk.
The organisations that start now will be live on Amazon Connect before the end-of-support deadline. The organisations that wait will be scrambling.
